Hard thread to answer.

My “favourite” fuzzes are different from my faves to play if that makes sense. Out of all my fuzzes I’d have to say my faves (or prized possessions) that I own are:

  • 1966 Arbiter Fuzz Face
  • 1966 John Hornby Skewes Zonk Machine
  • 90’s Cesar Diaz-made Texas Squareface

But these aren’t necessarily my fave ones to play as they are pretty temperamental and aren’t necessarily optimal. I’ve owned many, many fuzz face style pedals and actually keep a giant log of what makes them all a bit different from a build perspective, helps me understand what the builder wanted to hear. When building a Dominion I normally take those things into account.

As cliché as it is to say, my fave fuzz to play regularly is probably one of my own as I have tailored it exactly to my tastes. But I also really enjoy:

  • Solasound Tonebender MKI “System”
  • Analogman Sunfaces
  • Roger Mayer Octavia

My "latest" addition (that i can speak of) is the Supro 1304.
(kindly played by Andy cause he don't suck.....)

It’s Sasha Ivantic‘s video plying one of your pedals that has me on this quest. 🎸😎🎸

Just got mine from your newest batch in the mail. Giving it a spin, and still trying to figure out where I like the tone/settings, but really liking the silicon side so far :)

This was one of my favourites, and I think the first boutique fuzz I bought.
DAM 1966, Vox 2 transistor Tonebender.
It's a very underrated circuit. Sure, it's not as hairy and muscular as a MkI or as soupy as a MkII, but it has its own thing going on, from The Doors to The Stooges (a lot of people think that's a Fuzzrite, but it's a Vox TB)

I ended up with a bunch of original Voxes from the 60s too.

The two I've had the longest are the Behringer SF300 (seriously don't sleep on this outrageous fz2 clone) and my BART Sunface.

I do have a tendency to fall madly in love with Big Muffs and use them on everything for six months before getting sick of it and not touching one for a year. I picked up this Skreddy Giant Meat Pie this weekend and I have a ✨good feeling about this one✨

I think the Skreddy is a VERY good idea, I think the the Monsterpiece Scratchy Snatch is probably right up there with the best fuzzface's you can buy (but don't know because I have a 3 knob NPN, which I bet hangs with the best but who knows?)

But what I really think is, you could go and buy the MXR 108 from L&M, take it home and give it a good run, and return it the next day and get your money back, and then you will have tried an amazing fuzzface.
My p19 skreddy is crazy good, Soo good it's the only one I have now.

No, it means now you have to try all the others to find one you like.
I used to have a huge (HUGE!) collection of mostly vintage and a smattering of boutique fuzz. It's a deep and expensive rabbit hole.
Mostly gone now to fund house downpayment.

The Muff family at one time (I know, those two Foxeys, the Little Muff and Muff Fuzz aren't muffs, I did have a Guild Foxey Lady triangle muff, but it's not in this pic)

Had a load of Fuzzrites and 3 Fuzz faces, and a bunch of Tone Benders.
The prize of the bunch was this jerms MkI, but it too fell to the sword of housebuying
