No, it means now you have to try all the others to find one you like.
I used to have a huge (HUGE!) collection of mostly vintage and a smattering of boutique fuzz. It's a deep and expensive rabbit hole.
Mostly gone now to fund house downpayment.

The Muff family at one time (I know, those two Foxeys, the Little Muff and Muff Fuzz aren't muffs, I did have a Guild Foxey Lady triangle muff, but it's not in this pic)

Had a load of Fuzzrites and 3 Fuzz faces, and a bunch of Tone Benders.
The prize of the bunch was this jerms MkI, but it too fell to the sword of housebuying

So….…much………Fuzz

Damn you! I was, like, 6 days in , ok 4, alright…..2, but I was NOT tempted! No! I didn’t look at Reverb! I didn’t use that “Buy now” button…… well, maybe. But just once,

It's so incredibly amp dependent with fuzz that I have a (at best) 50/50 track record with enjoying them on any level vs being totally disappointed. Probably 1 in 5 that I can actually see myself using long term. I've always found Fuzz Face circuits to be the easiest to get along with overall.

FoxRox Hot Silicon has been a steady winner over the years. I just got an EQD Erupter that sounds incredible with my Marshall 2266 set reasonably clean. Again though, it sounds pretty shite through my Orange AD30 so... yeah. Fuzz is a total crap shoot as far as I can tell.

Fun though!

I’ve tried a reissue Fuzz Face (big red one) and now have an MXR 108 with the buffer.
I don’t play it often, seems to like my wah pedal though.
I’m afraid I may not be a fuzz guy.
I currently own 7 overdrives so that’s probably a good thing.
Similar boat here. I love fuzz when I hear other people playing them. When I play them it usually doesn't translate. Couple exceptions, but that's mostly how it works for me.

... might be one of these soon, just waitin' for delivery ...

Failing the above, will try @SmoggyTwinkles recommendation:

[Edit - was never a fuzz guy, and it seems i prefer silicon fuzz]

PTD Rotobone
I AM SO JEALOUS!!!!!!!

I wish I could find the clip of a forumite (another forum though) playing this thing. Insane!

Could have got on the list years ago after seeing it, would have had it within a few months, didn't do it, will never have one :(

I think the Skreddy is a VERY good idea, I think the the Monsterpiece Scratchy Snatch is probably right up there with the best fuzzface's you can buy (but don't know because I have a 3 knob NPN, which I bet hangs with the best but who knows?)

But what I really think is, you could go and buy the MXR 108 from L&M, take it home and give it a good run, and return it the next day and get your money back, and then you will have tried an amazing fuzzface.

Woah you have the Skreddy ordered?

I think maybe I need to get one of those (used to have a Screwdriver, loved it but had another pedal at the time that was doing what I wanted a bit better though less versatile)

Crap. That Hybrid Fuzz Driver actually sounds like it can do exactly what I've been searching for currently.

I'd love to hear how long it took you to get it when you do. Skreddy is legendary, doesn't make a bad pedal!

Mr.Skreddy says he's 6 months behind ...

Woah, 6 months for a Skreddy..... (thinking back....woah 1 year for a RotoBone, thinking way back woah 4 weeks for a King of Tone?)

Strange because someone told me I could get a Kingsley pedal within 2 months and I don't really believe that based on the popularity.

I guess it's hard to predict, depends on what the builder is trying to do business wise I guess.

I am also in tetris mode.

Wait no I'm not because I ripped all my pedals off of my "board" so I'm playing tetris without borders right now (and for the past year I think)

Tetris needs borders to work IMO. I wish you the best of luck finding those sounds you're after.

I found a couple I would like to try and if any of you have tried these, give me some feedback.
  • All Pedal Love Machine
  • Fjord Berserk II
  • Hwimori Love Face.
  • not a fuzz as such but seems like some fuzz tones are available in this one, Nativeaudio war party

Fuzzhugger Algal Bloom, been my main dirt on the pedalboard for 13 years now, I am still finding new tones and am always able to get it right when swapping guitars, pickups or processing trumpet, clarinet and voice.

Very articulate and handles more complex harmonics very well.
