This is why you let the authorities handle these situations.
I don't know where you released it and it may not be where wildlife would have released it...but as you say, it's not your responsibility to find their homes.
Well big fella, how about you do you and I'll do me?

We all decide which situations for which we go to the authorities. Technically I didn't find them new homes. I simply evicted them from mine.

They won't do diddly squat about the cats.

I will.

YMMV

Reading a short story, and went to the internet for some depth and critical thinking on it.

An Artificial Intelligence 10 page review, at the top of my internet search.... calls it a novel, proceeds to give me the plot of a novel by the author, there is no confusing the two titles, tells me 3 times the author was from England and was a writer and known for essays as well. Not a shred of anything ties to the short story itself.

Hope nobody used this for a high school or undergrad paper, actually i hope 10,000 do.

This will certainly all be ironed out, these little bugs...

hang on there guys ...
is this thread is going to be locked over cats and dogs ?

plz note NO animals were hurt or injured in any way ( and nobody has suggested it either )

the 2 next door neighbours' cats regularly visit the bird feeders in my back yard .
so do foxes , raccoons , rabbits , skunks , dogs , hawks , squirrels , chipmunks , red squirrels ... etc.

once in a while , someone gets a bird / rodent .... just life in the country.

I was driving Hwy 60 yesterday, on my way to walk the Track and Tower trail in Algonquin park.

The check engine light dings on. I pull over, pop in my trusty Princess Auto scanner, up pops DTC P1740. I called my mechanic, who referred me to a transmission shop, who suggested that I not drive if at all possible.

A tow from there to here is pushing $2,000.00!!!!!! Challenge accepted.

T.I.L. that I can drive the best part of 400km at less than 80kmh average speed, constantly feathering the throttle because the Torque Converter Clutch Solenoid is faulty. Even the 400/401/403 section was moving well. I did not come to a complete stop at any point from Oxtongue Lake through to the Garden Avenue exit in Brantford.

Surgery has been booked for September 08. The family appreciates you respecting our privacy at this difficult time.

What does a AMA/CAA membership cost? I got the family on a plan as soon as my kids got to driving and it has been a huge stress relief and financial savings for me.
Can you guess where I'm going tomorrow? With a 16 year old Versa, and a 10 year old Cramavan, CAA towing would have made my day today much less stressful. My Garmin watch recorded much higher stress on the 4 hour drive today than I generate in a 4 hour bike race.

Also one of the major benefits of having a dog around. Cats don't tend to come into yards with a lot of dog scent around.

I live in rural SK, when that check engine light comes on, we adjust the steering wheel so we don’t see it. Right after we check the engine oil level.

A little black electrical tape will fix any check engine light...just a small piece to cover up the light.

Well,I love dogs, but I know how much attention and time they need. They're almost like having another child.

I'd love to have one, but I already have to take care of a 125 gallon aquarium and general maintenance on my home.

I just wouldn't want to have a dog and then not have the time or energy they really need.

So, I buy a big box of Milkbones every month or so and pet every doggy buddy who cares to stop at my door. I have regulars.

Cats are much less work.

As a pet, I find that a dog is a loyal companion and provides unconditional love and affection; they are a dependent and as such look up to you for support in all aspects. If you're feeling down, they can sense your moods and will help...it has been proven that they provide support to veterans or others, suffering from PTSD and related disorders. Service dogs, such as for vision impaired individuals, also provide good support. It can be quite traumatic when a dog passes on however, that feeling exists for anything that you love, IMO. We spend a lot of our time with our dogs and I believe that there would be a great void, without them...it is very likely that other members on this forum share a similar sentiment.

My sister was without a dog for about a year. She was losing her empathy. She improved dramatically when she got another rescue.

She's a dog person. All the neighbourhood dogs would follow her around, from the time she was in a stroller.

Now she makes dog biscuits.

We didn't have dogs growing up, I don't have dogs.

She likes cats, well enough, but she's allergic to cats.
