Would have loved to have seen these guys back together again in Boston last night.

My uncle took my brother and I to go see them in Detroit once around the time of Love Stinks and man, oh man, did these guys put on a show. Wish I would have been a little older at the time to fully appreciate it. I grew up on Detroit FM radio where they were about as popular as a band could get - don't know if I've ever heard them on Toronto radio.

And no, "Freeze Frame" or "Centerfold" aren't really what I consider "The J. Geils Band", but to each there own.

Don't think I've ever met anyone who saw them who wouldn't put them either at the top or awfully close to the best concert they ever saw. For as "sweaty" a movie as Cool Hand Luke is, it's got nothing on a mid-70's - '82 J. Geils show.

My favorite of J geils is a song called "I Do"...Im actually not sure if thats the title of the song...I searched you tube however I couldnt find it.

Some of the lyrics (As I remember them)

Do i want you
to stay by my side
i do
I do now
yes i do

If anyone can post a link to the song that would be great...have not heard it in a while.

The vibe i get from J geils Band is that they totally ignored the 60's...its like they went from the 50's to the late 70's early 80's.

I liked other songs from this band as well however I think there are two camps when it comes to j geils fans...some like the band before the commercial success of "centerfold" and "freezeframe" and others like them because of their commercial success.

I like the band no matter how commercial there tunes were at the time.

What makes the band great is the backup vocals...one of the best backup vocal bands for sure.
