Firt of all it's a long shot run! I'm interessed to buy a new amp for the summer, something in the marshall sound but at a smaller volume! I prefer small combo like 5 to 10 watts! I have a preference for the handwired one since it's easier to fix if there's a problem. I open to the canadian side of the amp building too! ;) Let me know what can we found overthere!

I want the dertiest, in fact I wanna the totaly opposit of my actual Silverface Champ! It's crystal clear, so I want the best of both world! I always heard that a Marshall sounds really good when crancked, but I like it in a small package, easier for me and the neibhours!

$$$ but the Cornford Harlequin and Carrera are amazing, as is the Suhr Badger that can be scaled down to bedroom volumes without compromise. I'm biased, we used to import Cornford and I kept mine (2x)...and we're Suhr dealers.

You could also look at several other power scaled 18 watters and a few single ended combos with Marshall flavours that are available but I don't think you'll beat the Cornford or Suhr. If you're looking for the cleaner side of Marshall, I just built myself a Supro clone that I'm really bonding with.

As for Canadians, Stephenson (the BC one) builds a killer 10 watter but afaik his waiting list is extensive and sometimes the 10 watters James Peters formerly made turn up......I love the name 3CP1 (SCTV reference LOL:banana:) and they can be found <$1K....great stuff (head only though). There's also a couple of Toronto built 18 watters, Trinity, Newall, Texeira (mispelled I think) getting raves.
