For those of you who have missed this, PRS released a new limited edition model that's quite a departure from other signature models. I'm not a fan of the artist or his band but I'm glad to see PRS continue pushing new designs. Here is the link to the official marketing: https://prsguitars.com/electrics/model/chleo_limited_edition_2025

PRS is the best in the biz right now IMO. Their niche in the 90s was higher gain genres but now with the silver sky and 594 they're capturing the vintage/classic tone market as well.

My fear is they'll start expanding too quickly and quality will drop, but as long as Paul's around I think they'll continue to gain well deserved marketshare.

Of the big brands, I definitely agree that PRS’ ability to execute is unmatched. Of course there are small builders who are able to maintain stands of high quality but scaling to a higher volume is no insignificant feat.

I haven’t agreed with all of their opinions especially with how Paul sometimes expresses them, but I have the utmost respect for his relentless passion.

I actually appreciate a lot of ideas that went into it, and the specs are very much likeable imo. But man almost $10k at L&M... Not that I never spent this much or more on a guitar, but I don't think I'll be buying this one at this price point. Just me though.

That was a great informative video. Some very advanced technology and design features with the tremolo stabilizers, carvings and switching options. That jack insert design is very sensible and would like to see PRS apply that to some of their other models and other manufactures incorporate something similar into their designs.

The guitar wouldn't apply to my style of playing but would love to try one out. Overall very cool. Wonder if PRS will offer an SE model in the future.

Interesting specs. I’d find it unplayable. If you like an unusually wide nut, this is your animal.
One thing that always bugs me about these shredders is that stupid middle single coil that does not match the rest of the guitar. Looks like some aftermarket mod.

looks better in charcoal purple.

It's an extra 16th of an inch (though I wonder why they didn't just say 1 3/4"), so it's not a ton too wide.

Agreed on the charcoal purple, and agreed on the single coil, though I wonder if having it identical to the other pickups might not be a bit much.

It's not my cup of tea, but clearly it was made to be someone's very specific cup. I wonder if it is a sort of invitation to other "name" players to come forward with their own special orders.

The USB charging is a nice feature, though. I wish I had it on a few of my guitars.

Some well thought-out features. I think the switch for bypassing the tone knob makes a lot of sense, especially with all the push-pull Fluence stuff.

I think I might find the neck a bit thin, but overall, I'd find this guitar fun to play.

I don’t find it unusual at all. Basically it is a PRS copying/putting a bit of a spin in an Ibanez S with some Jem flavor added. The nut is standard Ibanez 43mm version, nothing unusual either. It is a customized model sure, but everything is logical and makes sense. I bet it is very playable, and great pickup config and options. OK, I hate gold, satin finish and both colors but that’s minor and personal preference again.

Two of the best jazz guitarists - also George Benson, Charlie Christian, Django, etc. Maybe you need to go back and listen to some real musicians - no pedals, no flash, true melodic content: just guitar into amp. Or even some of the the old blues guys / women - Muddy, BB, Etta, Buddy, Robert Johnson, Willie Dixon, et al.

It is ugly. And who is Herman Li to warrant a $6.8K guitar. Maybe a tribute to Joe Pass, or Wes, but not another shredder.
Not that I love Dragonforce, but at least I’m familiar with them and can relate to what PRS was trying to accomplish. But who are all those people you mentioned? GenX’er is wondering here, been playing for 35 years…
See @ForaFrank? This is how you build engagement.
