Marantz Stereo 70s (replacement for the NR1200 I ordered) - Sounds fantastic with vinyl

I had ordered the NR1200 about two months ago but the dealer couldn't get stock. Then the Stereo 70s was released and that explained the hold up. But, my local Marantz dealer still couldn't get any stock.

Ordered from Gibby's yesterday and received the unit today. Sounds pretty damn good. I do have to run it at a higher volume setting than my previous more powerful stereo (95W vs 70W). For example, lvl 15% was a good level for internet radio and 35% a good level for phono. Now I need to be at 35% for internet radio and about 55% for vinyl.

There is a volume drop as expected going from phono to say internet radio. Would I introduce clipping if I turned on the turntable's pre-amp in addition to using the receiver's phono pre-amp input?

You can't plug in a phono pre-amp into another phono pre-amp. The turntable phono preamp should go into a line input on your amplifier. If you were to connect an external preamp or use the built-in preamp of your turntable while connected to a phono input of an amplifier, you will experience a great deal of distortion. This is because it's now being over-amplified.
The difference in the volume is normal. With my hifi system, I have to adjust the volume depending on the source I am using either the turntable, cd player or my streamer.
