And yet no one mentioned a great guitarist and one of the most ever jazz collection of records my old friend Jeff Healy and also how can you not mention Crowbar and what about Collin James

 

Anybody remember a band called Seadog? I think they had one song on the radio "It's a Hot Night". I can still hear it in my head ......

 

Not rock music per say..... But I got for an X-mas gift in 1978 an LP by some country rockers.... The Good Brothers. The LP: "Doin' The Wrong Things Right!" Their lead player Danny McBride lent his rock guitar licks to that LP that really made me take note of what they were capable of. Here's an example:

Teaze, a local hard rock band from Windsor Ontario, made it big in Japan. 9 albums if I recall correctly.

Mark Bradac, who ran a pawnshop that I used to frequent, was a member of that band, and also part of the cast on a short lived Canadian TV pawnstars show.

When I was living in the States at that time as a kid, The Kings and Aldo Nova were on the radio quite a bit. Def had their 15 minutes, but not much more.

Watching an Australian show on Netflix last night (The Messenger) and to my surprise the Junkies Sweet Jane was played during a slow-dance segment. Twice.

 

Too much to go through again, but was Blue Rodeo (1984) mentioned?

 

Also Irish Rovers. The band started in Toronto.

When I was in Ireland last year, I asked quite a few people if they knew any of their well known songs. No one ever heard of them.
