I have the B9. It's alot of fun. Still trying to work it into some tunes with the band. I put a Wampler fuzz after it and I got some interesting tones. Lots of reverb on cathedral settings is quite realistic. I need to set more time aside to explore it a little more.

 

I had one for a while. I loved it, but it got gone in the Great Purge

That mellotron was super fun, but don't let it overshadow the great shimmer effect.

 

The shimmer caught my ears as well. I like the blend of dry and mix signal - it sounds huge on the B9 demo.

 

I have a B9 and love it to pieces. I don't really think of it as an effect pedal though. It's more like a synth module that specializes in organs using the guitar as a trigger. You don't hear the guitar at all unless you use the blend mode. That's quite full sounding, that blend mode. Very Phat.

There's also just a hint of delay between your pluck and the sound. You can really tell there's a whole lot of processing going on there. You adapt your playing style fairly quickly though. It's not an impossible hurdle to overcome.

I run my Strymon Lexx after it in my signal chain because the built in Leslie on the B9 is far less capable than the Lexx. Must keep all drive gain out of the Lexx, though. Not good mixed with the B9. If your Leslie sim has an OD stage don't use it. Use the amp's settings if you need grind for that Lord/Purple thang.

Great pedal. I find lots of uses for it and the great thing is it's not all that difficult to obtain the exact same sounds as in the demo vid.

 

Woah I didn't know about these pedals! Hmm I wonder if you can achieve these full-sounding organ tones with soft synths.

 

I'd love one, but it's a bit more than I'd like to spend, just to do some Jon Lord inspired stuff on guitar.

maybe if I were in a gigging band...

But if I see one come up for sale used--I can't say I wouldn't get it.

 

If you just want to try one, buy it. They sell quickly, so it's like renting. You'll lose about $30

 

I don`t usually order new effects pedal but this one i had to have..should be here next week.
