Ok who is Chris Riggs? never heard of him. even goggled him... nothing...

The original was made by by California luthier Kris Derrig and then officially copied by Gibson.
I know there are china knock offs out there all over the place.

At least this guy is advertising it as a copy. I saw this today on Kijijji. http://www.kijiji.ca/v-guitar/city-of-toronto/gibson-guitar-slash-signature-series/1019212484

i emailed the guy and asked how much was "best offer starting at" he told me $2000. I emailed him back and he told me he took it on a trade. When I told him it was a Chinese copy and he got hosed, he told me that his buddy verified that it was a genuine Gibson. I found a pic on line of the exact same serial number as his headstock and sent it to him. He was cordial and acted like he got duped. The ad is still up.

He admits it's a copy and is selling only to those to come to physically pick it up. I don't see the big deal except the price may be a little high for what it is really worth but that is up to the buyer to decide, isn't it?

Part of the issue is the history of the seller.
the other part to me, is the vague wording of the ad. Saying its a copy of Slashs AFD guitar doesn't go far enough IMO. All authentic Gibson AFD or other signature line guitars are positioned as "copies" of the actual guitar played by Slash or whomever.
But that is not the case here as this one is not even made by Gibson. Its a copy of a copy :) Read: COUNTERFEIT
