They must spend a lot on Google adverts.

I did buy one thing from them once, though... a road case. Product was good, price was good, communication was good. I'd buy from them again.

They have a brick & mortar in Montreal, but GC has ads for them.... not that it's tied specifically to GC... They have me pegged. Looking for some info if any of you cats have bought from them on line and if they are legit and easy to deal with. View attachment 369818 View attachment 369819
YEAH THESE GUYS ARE GREAT TO DEAL WITH AND HAVE LOTS OF INVENTORY AND KNOWLEDGABLE STAFF. LOVE THEM BOUGHT AN AF75 FROM THEM A COUPLE WEEKS AGO. MARC

A warning to anyone shopping online: Don't order from here if you want to be certain your order will arrive in 3-4 months or less, regardless of what the website says or what their customer service promises! Here's what happened to me: In the first week of June, I ordered around 10 cables that came out to over $200 with free shipping as it's over $200 pre tax. They charged my card immediately, and all items I ordered said the processing+shipping time was 1-2 days, or 1-2 weeks depending on the item so I didn't think much as they clearly had this displayed on their website, and on the invoice I received. I was fine waiting 1-2 weeks. The prices were good, and in hindsight, they were too good. the cables I wanted were hard to find locally, and cost much more than RedOne was selling them for. The next day their customer support (Stephan J) reached out to me, and said "actually all items are now 2-3 weeks or 6 to 8 weeks waiting time, sorry!". I told them, "okay remove the items that will take 6-8 weeks, I cannot wait that long for these products and I'll have to buy them locally. I cannot afford adding shipping on the items though, so please don't add it due to your mistakes" He removed the items and I received an updated invoice. He added shipping charges to the order! It was only $10, but it put the cost up per item and I really couldn't afford the extra cost on top of buying the items locally at a higher price. I asked him politely to remove this charge, as the shipping was added because their site and invoice was falsely claiming the items would arrive sooner, and with the removed item, it came out to slightly less than $200. I thought that it was reasonable for them to eat the shipping cost because of their mistake, but RedOne was not going to budge. They fought on it for a week and at one point I was condescendingly told "If you want me to erase the shipping fees, you will have to pick that order in our store in Montreal. let me know if that works for you! " (yes this is the actual quote), knowing full well I was in a different province. At that point I said he was being unprofessional, and I no longer would like to do business with RedOne because of all the malpractices and frankly, illegal actions that were taking place by the company. "Please cancel my order and refund me my nearly $200", I said. Stephen decided at that point not to cancel my order, and instead at that point removed the $10 shipping fee. Now I missed this email, but noticed at the end of August (TWELVE weeks since I ordered the '1-2 week lead-time' cables at that point) that I was not refunded yet. So I reached out to a different Customer Service representative (Soloman) as Stephen was not being friendly, and I asked "why my money wasn't returned after I had requested it 2.5 months earlier? Please refund my money." He said that there was no record of me asking to refund the money, but unlike Stephen, Soloman corrected the issue, and my money was refunded. Soloman is a good guy. It's fortunate RedOne has him to slightly even out the horrid practices that RedOne engages in. So all that said, RedOne seems to be a drop shipping company, who will go against customer protection laws and credit card agreements by holding your funds when they don't even have to product (s) in hand yet. To sum it up: -It was stated on their website that my order would take 1-2 weeks to ship out to me, and the invoice confirmed this. - within that week, they changed the shipping time to 6-8 weeks for some of the items (but they won't ship the products separately, the whole order is held back). - they charged my card additional fees without my permission - I asked them to cancel my order, refund money. They didn't do either - 12 weeks has gone by and there is still no sign of a refund, and the order is still "processing". Keep in mind this is 10 weeks longer than their product pages said they'd take to ship. Don't trust their estimates, they are over-promising and false advertising - Don't shop here!!! You may never get your order. Shop local even if it costs more

Man, that sucks! Sorry to hear about your bad experience!

Not quite... Here's a general note about how they operate:

PHYSICAL STORE
They are actually a decent sized physical music store in Dorval, QC. Their in-person service is also fine. Nothing spectacular, but certainly not bad. Just your average music store with a good local reputation.

WEBSITE / ONLINE
Their website is another story... They list almost everything they can get from almost every supplier they deal with, but their online inventory/availability is not actually tracked or tied to any real data. Whether it says 1-2 days, 1-2 weeks, 1-2 months, or anything else, it is actually meaningless. I would guess there is likely "some" logic to it. Like, they maybe put 1-2 days on things they regularly stock, a few weeks for things they have to order but can generally get quickly, and longer for things they know will take longer. But, it creates issues like this where they don't actually have stock and/or run into unexpected supplier delays, which can significantly impact a customer's order in a negative way (as in some of the examples in this thread).

A COMMON PROBLEM
I've been a part of digitizing a few old-school brick and mortar stores, and this is actually a fairly common issue. Believe it or not, many old-school stores do not have inventory systems tracking everything that goes in and out the door. If they do, they are often poorly maintained (quite inaccurate) and likely incompatible with modern eCommerce services. To solve the problem would require separating online inventory from in-store inventory, which creates a ton of problems. Or, it requires a complete change in POS systems, which is an ENORMOUS undertaking for a small business. It is incredibly expensive (both up front, and likely with a much higher monthly cost to maintain), it is extremely time consuming, and it is bound to have a ton of shortcomings and other unexpected issues that will create a ton of headaches throughout the process and continuing forward. In most cases, small business owners either can't afford it or can't be bothered with the headache.

I've seen a few make the investment, only to revert back to their old system within a year or two. Sometimes it's just better to have a system you know inside and out than one where you keep running into problems trying to do something that used to be simple. Especially since modern eCommerce systems and POS integrations are basically all ABSOLUTEY TERRIBLE (coming from first hand experience working with many of them). Well, they're great in many ways, but awful in others. But that's a different rant...

A HELPFUL TIP FOR SHOPPING ONLINE
When I see a listing that doesn't show actual quantities in stock and only has a note saying, ships in X business days/weeks, I assume they are a business that operates in this way (without realtime inventory tracking). If they have something I need quickly at a good price that I can't find elsewhere, I contact them directly to make sure they actually have the stock, and place my order over the phone to ensure I get it (double checking again that the stock is actually there). Or, I keep looking. I never pull the trigger unless I know it is there.

THE BAD
However, confirming they have stock manually doesn't help if they just lie about it because they want to make the sale. Sadly, those types of places also exist... Eventually they will be discovered, shared about publicly, and weeded out slowly over time.

Fuck them.

I search for Gibson Les Paul on kijiji? I get ads for mixing boards from Red One.
I search for a Strat? Synthesizers.
Fender amp? I dunno... probably a fuckin’ clarinet.

Fuck them.
What do you have against the clarinet? I bet if you heard my Grade 9 solo for "The Blue Danube", you'd be ordering one right now.

As for Red One, a friend of mine is in Montreal and she ordered something from there during covid lockdown, when you couldnt actually go inside to get it. It was some sort of lighting pole she needed. She sat there for 2hrs waiting for the guy to bring it outside, called multiple times and he said he was just packaging it up, as it was already assembled for display. Then she got an email that her order had been canceled. I think she just left at that point. I think they run things just like Tundra Music does. Is Tundra still around?

I've ordered a few items from them, most recently in April and then again in June. The products were reduced in price, and Redone was the only source in the country, so I was glad to get them. Then after purchasing, the all-too-familiar email came saying they're actually out of stock and delivery will be delayed, but I let the orders ride in both cases.

I contacted them in August to find that one of the items was back in stock, though they hadn't bothered to tell me or ship it out. It seems like their database is seriously flawed. After a bit of cross-talk over email with different managers, both purchases finally arrived in August a couple weeks apart. They did offer free shipping on both items, which might have been a slight bonus to make up for the delays.

Never buy anything here. they are irresponsible and only value making money. They don't prepare for stock and sell items. I bought a item on January 2nd but they didn't ship and delivery well properly over 2 weeks. I requested to ship it in a different way. But They never solve the problem, they just try to cover it up. They just waste the customer's time and money meaninglessly. Never waste time and money at here.
