Need to decide if I’m going to sell off a couple of guitars In the next week or two and take a run at the B bender. Then, it will be when to strike as they will likely become more flexible in negotiations as they get closer to the actual closing date. Then, there is the risk that some fucker might scoop that guitar while I’m waiting for a better price. These first world problems gonna be the death of me…lol

And yet, zombie Steve's in Toronto still manages to shuffle along somehow.

I always enjoyed visiting Cosmo. The boutique room was fun. They always had stuff I couldn't find easily elsewhere.

L&M is fine, but there's not nearly as much variety.

Gonna be sad to see them close...while their service wasn't the best they did carry brands that L&M doesn't carry...

And I guess L&M found their new Markham location. When the reps the current L&M Markham location told me about the Stouffville move they also said head office was looking for a new Markham location site - I think they originally were thinking somewhere in the Hwy 7 and 404 area but I guess now it will be a Richmond Hill location.

Wow, didn’t have this on the bingo card. Genuinely, what reputable dealers apart from L&M are left in southwestern Ontario?
Solo Music is good but they do not have a huge inventory. However, they are very good for basic stuff, and also parts etc. Nice people to deal with in my experience and they are near where I work I’m in there to buy strings and such.

Yeah, L&M Bloor is about a 15 minute drive from where live if there was no traffic. But going there is such a shit show with traffic congestion due to bike lanes, cafe in the gutter and addicts shittin in the streets that it is easier to get on the highway and drive to Cosmo. Thought about going to LM Bloor today to check out a Bassman Tone Master but to hell with them.

Their customer service significantly declined over the past 5 years. I can't really imagine it being any worse.... Outside of a gentleman named Drake, the guitar department was a joke. I struggled with the keyboard department as well.

I'm still sad to hear they're going under, but not at all surprised.

Yeah, my experience with them was pre-covid and always liked going there. Last guitar I bought from them was a fender broadcaster in 2020. I rolled up to the back door, some guy came out and put the guitar in the back of my truck and I drove away… Lol. Absolutely great fucking guitar.

Drake was far and away the best employee, nicest guy, always helpful and cut me some great deals on gear. I hope he lands on his feet, or L and M offers him a role.

Another thing too is that Cosmo had a plek machine and you could be there while they did the work. Steadley will sprout feathers before that kind of service is available again. There was a guy worked in Cosmo repair named Lloyd - he might be retired by now anyway but knew what he was doing and you could talk to him about what you needed done. L&M You can’t explain anything to them.
