I scanned through and saw a number of threads asking if any one has this specific hobby or another, thought it would be good to share just what your other Hobbies are.

Personally I am a home brewer, and not to blow my horn, but I make great beer. Friends say I should go Pro, but then it wouldn't be a fun hobby anymore, it would become work. Trust me too, it is a lot of work, but so worth the effort.

I don't always have 4 beers on tap, but I try!

My other hobby used to be high end audiophile stereo gear. Had close to 20k sunk in to it and likely would have spent much more. But I gave up on it as my heart was more in to my guitar and recording gear. I sold it off and bought a decent 70's turntable a Denon integrated and decent speakers. All told I have about 4k sunk in to it. No where near like I had but decent enough to satisfy me.

Hunting, handloading, competitive silhouette shooting.

It's the other side of the same addiction. If I am thinking about a new guitar, I don't think about it. If I am obsessing about something with it, I am happy with my guitars. We are a strange species! ;)

Right now, my main hobby is pool/snooker. I play in local/regional tournaments and a few leagues. In my younger days, i made an attempt to go pro and burned myself out trying to juggle that along with a demanding full-time job. I quit altogether for 15yrs, and just started playing again this year as my health improved. Im quickly getting my old game back, but I enjoy it much more and dont put too much pressure on myself.

Also, took up golf again this year, which I love. I enjoy travelling around and playing the nicer courses in southern Ontario.

Finally, i collect things. From knives and vintage straight razors, to coins and fountain pens.

I got bit HARD by the pickleball bug about 2 years ago and probably play 8-10 hours per week now. At first I scoffed at it and said, "No thank you--that's an old person's sport!" I'm not young either. I was 58 when I started and the majority of the players were older than me, but in those 2 years the average age has come way down. When I'm playing in the evening and on weekends I would say the average player is now between 25-45 years old. I'm the old guy now :)

Non-music related hobbies include:
  • Pool (8-ball, 9-ball, 10-ball, and straight pool; love it all!)
  • Weight Training
  • Bouldering (rock climbing for people who dislike heights; I suck, but really enjoy it)
  • Computer Stuff (gaming, making/modding games, programming, and tinkering in general)
  • Pickup Sports (meaning, non-competitive "beer" leagues where people are just having fun and not taking themselves too seriously, ODRs in winter, etc.)
Do I actually have time for any of the above? Nope! Married with kids. You know the drill. Lol

In general though, I'm good for doing basically anything as long as it is with good people. (y)

I guess my main hobby is not really just guitar playing. Over the last 20 years, I've been forming and leading my own bands. Which AnjChito has been it for that last 5 years now. The band occupy most of of my time outside of work. Like Sunday afternoons are pretty much a no go for any other activity as that is rehearsal day. I've produced and recorded 3 albums over the last 15 years now. With these bands, I do EVERYTHING. :D From writing the music, booking the band, doing the promotion part of it. managing band rehearsals, creating and updating the website, producing albums, which entails setting up the recordings, mixing, mastering and all that is required to put out an album.

The other hobby is my Rega based audio system. I've put in over $15k into a system which consists of a couple of turntables, a CD player, a streamer, 3 phono preamps, a DAC, a pair of Kef bookshelf speakers and a Kef subwoofer. Does not include the 2,000+ vinyl records I have, of which 25% are audiophile records some costing $250 an album. 90% of these vinyl records I bought new. The last 500 probably in the last 5 years.

My main hobby, and has been for many years is cycling. Started as a roadie back in the late 80s, then moved to MTB when it first broke more mainstream. Been a MTBer ever since. Recently got into gravel riding courtesy of Paul M here on GC. I also do sim racing. I have a rig for that that includes the frame, seat, direct drive wheel, the pedals with clutch, brake, and gas. Mine even came with a 4 point harness. I wear that when playing a rally sim. It seems I don't have a hobby that isn't expensive. HAHA. That's mostly it. I USED to build scale plastic models, but lost interest and sold my entire collection and everything associated with it. I also enjoy reading. Physical books........not ebooks. True crime is my area of passion. I always remind my wife during a conversation that I know how to get rid of the body. ;)

This is my current stereo, a Denon PMA 1600NE. It has a built in dac thats not bad. Not as good as what my Rega was. The turntable is a 1970's Pioneer PL-530 that was completely rebuilt. A little while ago I put a really nice Audio Technica 740 ML cartridge on it.
The speakers in the corner are Atlantic technology AT-2's. My original plan was to add powered subs to this but these little speakers kick out enough low end there was no need.
