Ok so, after trying a friend's double cut Electromatic Gretsch a few months ago, I developed an itch to get me some Gretsch goodness into my life.
I've played a couple at L&M over the weekend, and really dig that crisp twang. I was pretty impressed by the G5xxx series guitars I've tried, hollow/semi-hollow or solid bodies. I still feel like I need to try some more to see what's out there, but after the ones I've tried and what I've heard, it feels that I might be after a hollow body model with double cut, and the Bigsby would be fun. The G5422T seems to check all the boxes, but I need to find a way to try one...
What do you guys think? I stopped a Lauzon's music a few weeks ago, wanting to try higher end models, but they mostly had crazy expensive ones with no cheaper option to compare them to, while the local L&M mostly has cheap ones (they only had a series 6 Jet).
