Regardless of what FG model it is, they are all somewhere between above average to excellent as utility acoustics. Good quality woods and hardware and high build quality/consistency.
I'm going to let someone else enjoy this one. It's a seven hour return trip to maybe find out it's a basket case so I think I'm going to pass. I do have fond memories of it but I guess they'll just stay memories.
UPDATED 11/3/21 I consider “vintage” Yamaha FG series acoustic guitars to be models made between the years 1966 and 1981. They are very recognizable because they have the truss rod
