Was looking at a few Squires online, and a decent Jay Turser, but not a fan of the headstock. Wanted to get something cheap, and customize to how I want it. Nothing over the top and expensive, mostly cosmetic and a bit of hardware, like a set of vintage style pickups and maybe a bit of bridge work.

Anyways... as a result, was looking online at some under $100CAD candidates, and came across a Fender Squire XBox guitar, I guess used for Guitar Hero? or Rockband?

Pretty cheap, and well, no pickups or pots and will need a pickplate swapped out, which I mostly planned on anyways.

Question is... is it a guitar that you'd find at a guitar store, except with the game controller guts? or is it a big step down?

Can get it for about $50CAD which I think is pretty cheap, just not familiar with the game controller versions of guitars to know if the same as a regular Squire? or just garbage used for a video game.

Have any pictures or a link? I'm not sure what model you're talking about as the most recent rock band games came with epiphone les Paul special IIs if I'm not mistaken. Unless it's for an older version of the game, I can't quite picture what it would be.

Just Google Image search for XBox Fender Squier... lots of images.

Never heard back from the guy though... too bad, initial thought was to sell the guts, then thought, may be kinda cool to mod a standard pickguard and keep some of the buttons. Instead of the 5-way selector switch, have on/off switches for each pickup.

Ah well, decided to find a Squier with a 1.75" thick body and use that instead. Few online for sale, but not many people seem to respond back even to say if sold or not. :S
