Serious question here. So, you have an FX loop and butt loads of DC power, or AC to convert, why can't you just give me a little outlet so that I can run things into an FX loop right there at the source.

There has to be a reason better than "they hate me" and I assume it has something to do with separating the ac signal from amplification something something, but I would really like to think that if we can put a man on the moon we could engineer a way around that.

Some old big traynors have an outlet on the back. My yba-1 does at least. I use it to park an eq on top of the amp sometimes
Outlet like a standard AC outlet, or a DC outlet?

AC I have seen lots of and think honestly there should be more of seeing as the amperage drawn from an amplifiers power supply is minimal.

I would say…. because there’s no agreed to standard for doing that. What socket/plug would you use for 9V? Of course you could add it, and use your own cable, but if it’s not an approved CSA thing it’s hard to add that on as a manufacturer.
No, not just hard, not allowed.

I won't say you're wrong, but one could be inclusive of 90% of whay everyone uses by just adding a 3.5mm.

It's difficult to build amps that pass all the electrical and electronic standards around the world. It's not the jack that's the problem, it's everything behind the jack.

But if there was an AC outlet then it's easy to add an adapter of your choice, and you'd be happy.

You could probably write a 200 page report on that subject, Mark...500 pages, if it is government endorsed.
No, I couldn't because it would only need one summary paragraph and it would not speak kindly.

Just seems strange, the most logical thing is likely close enough to what @desolation_angel said in fact. Most normal people don't have pedals lumped on top of their amp like sad bedroom players such as myself.

Still seems like a wasted opportunity when you consider the depth of the sad bedroom player market :)

I agree, until someone plugs headphones in and either starts a small fire or kills the 9V dc supply. That’s how safety people would think of it. Without a recognized 9V out standard plug it’s not practical.
A single120VAC wall plug would be nice… then plug in one of those 9V power supplies that can power a dozen pedals.

You do not see as many of these any more and it is a shame. Such a simple thing to add too. For the price of an extra fuse holder and a socket.... cheap bastards lol
