Thought a I might start a fun topic like this.

My Dean ML weighs in at an even 10 pounds
My SG weighs in at about 7.5/8 pounds.

What do your guitars weigh in at an lets see who's weigh's the most and the least!

Your Dean has my Les Paul beat--I think.
But I'm sure my Mustang is lighter than 7.5 pounds--

I'll weigh them after I log off and let you know.

I'm not sure of the point of this, but I'll play along--I weighed myself without a guitar & then with one.

My Les Paul is pretty close to 10 pounds.
My Mustang is just under 7.
But a Samick mini Malibu is about 3 pounds.

thats heavy dude....

I haven't weighed it but I've stopped playing my LesPaul because it's so heavy. It's a late 70's model.

I had a solid maple bodied guitar that weighed 13lbs.

Solid bird's eye maple neck and body, with Floyd Rose. Very bright sounding guitar, looked great, but was uncomfortable to play after awhile.

This is on a scale with one decimal place, but here's the numbers:

Michael Kelly Valor: 6.5
Ibanez S470 DXQM: 7.5
Squier Series 24 M-77: 8.5

I'm surprised the M-77 is only 8 1/2 lbs, it seems heavier.
It's larger than an LP, but it's chambered.

LOL, I've never weighed a guitar.

If memory serves, either a Les Paul or a maple Lado I once owned would be among the heavier instruments I've owned and an SG I briefly owned would be one of the lightest.

But I've never felt uncomfortable holding up a heavy guitar. If it plays and sounds good the weight doesn't bother me at all.

Much more important IMO is balance. I like a guitar that sits with the neck in a slightly raised position. Neck heaviness makes a guitar uncomfortable to me.
