Ive got a Marshall with a ppmv mod that has a dual 250k pot. I need to replace it, and cant find one anywhere. Any ideas? Thanks!
Once again, I'm not saying you won't find one in Canada but I'm sure glad it's you looking and not me!

First off, it's an audio taper pot. Industrial suppliers haven't carried audio tapers in years. No call for 'em, except guys like you and me once a year or so.

Is it a panel mount where you bring the wires up to the pot or a printed circuit mount that gets soldered right to the board and the pots hold the board to the panel? Whereever you buy it from the salesperson will have to know or you can get the wrong one.

I would try http://www.tubesandmore.com which is Antique Electronics. If you google you'll find Hoffman Amps. Ted Weber at http://www.webervst.com might have something. All Americans but they give great service to Canadian orders.

Sorry to sound negative but that's just the way it is. I have some perspective as I spent my career since the mid 70's working for industrial electronic part distributors, selling everything from resistors to microprocessor chips. There's very little left in Canada. Big American distis control the lion's share of the market. Add to that you are looking for a very niche market item and you are left with online sources that specialize in parts for tube amps.

If the pot is a total custom style made for Marshall then NO catalogue house will have it! You'll have to source it from a Marshall service centre. Your local music store that sells Marshall should be able to help.

Good luck!

Hi Guy's, thanks for the help. U.S. it is . I realize its not very common, everyones looked at me pretty weird when Ive asked for one. Its not a Marshall part, but was installed in California by the Guitar Showcase service guys. Its a mod designed by Ken Fischer from Trainwreck amps. Sounds decent, but the mastervolume now has D.C. voltage present at the pot, and I guess it must have arched the contacts. Common problem I hear. I think I might just put it back to stock. Thanks again.
