There are some very good brewpubs making their own beer. I've been to Stone City Ales, and Kingston Brewing Company.

Stone City is a great place to catch a local brew and good food..
the Mansion has music every night on the third floor..decent food too
you can also try musikki...intimate little place with duo's playing most nights
