First of all, this Kickstarter isn't available to us in Canada but it's still an interesting development...or is it?

you can get close to that weight with a semi hollow Les Paul (ES series) or a Thinline Tele. I can't remember the weight of my ES-330, but it's in that range.

Epiphone has the Ultra LP which is heavily chambered. Comes in at 6.5 lbs.
