I tried one on the weekend. Spent an hour or so and had it cranked pretty good. Really liked the tones especially the cleans. The distortion is probably the best that Fender has ever offered. I really enjoyed the experience but still came away from it with mixed feelings.

Perhaps I've been spoiled but at that price point I just feel like I should be getting more.

Interested in your thoughts ....

From what I have read about these amps, that is the key strong point of them. They are supposed to be one of the few Fender amps with a 'gain' type channel that is actually decent.

As you said though they are pretty pricey. I think another model with a nice OD pedal would do me fine.

Jack of all trades and master of none...

The clean channel is good, not great, I expected more from a Fender. The tremolux voicing is really thin, to the point of being almost unusable. I like the Bassman channel cranked up. That part is pretty cool. No reverb on the head, why?

The burn channel is on a par with other midrange PCB amps, not nearly as nice and focused as a Soldano, but that's a lot to ask, and really thin sounding for a 60 watt amp. I'm not sure why.

Overall I find that it lacks dynamics, and any recognizable "character" Not bad, by any means, but I think the prosonic was a much better sounding and beefier amp.

...these echo my own observations when i plugged into the amp recently.

i was seriously underwhelmed. the amp has so much to offer, but so little to inspire.
