when i saw the R8 thread, i thought how cool it is that so much gear goes back and forth across the board here.
i have watched a certain ultra-drool worthy guitar change hands 3 times so far.

anyhow, i was thinking these things and it occurred to me. what if a guitar like that kept a diary? what kinda stuff might be in there, as it passed from one to the next? what if the 5th guy to own it knew what the other 4 did with it, and what they thought? i think it would be interesting and fun to know these things about a piece if gear when you buy it.

anyone else?

OK guys... which one of you has my old ES-330? The one with the walnut brown back and neck and the Larry Carlton sunburst? Speak up! ;-)

Not to be the turd in the punch bowl but, when I see a guitar change hands many times over, it leaves me wondering about why that might be. e.g. More show than go? Difficult to bond with? Poorly set up? etc.

Regardless, I like this notion of "If that guitar could only speak" cheezy....

I'm not sure it's a good idea.

Day 1 - Owner seems cool.
Day 2 - Determined owner is not cool.
Day 3 - Owner jerked off in front of the computer before picking me up again.
Day 4 - Determined owner is a douche who types on forums more than he plays.
Day 5 - Owner jerked off in front of the computer before picking me up again.
Day 6 - Looked up his wife's skirt while he played today. Coincidentally, he was playing something hard.
Day 7 - Owner jerked off in front of the computer before picking me up again.
Day 8 - Owner jerked off in front of the computer before picking me up again.
Day 9 - When's this dipshit gonna clean the gunk off my fretboard.

i dont second guess myself like that. if i check it out, and i like it, i dont care why/if they didnt like it. besides, you know how these guys are. most of them get sold because they saw another shiny pretty thing, more than any other reason.

For me, the previous owners found that bass isn't as easy to learn than what they thought.

That's why it's best to jerk off AFTER you play guitar.
