This is a resource thread for Garnet Amp dating (not including part codes; by feature and model production dates) and model number nomenclature (because, as with all things Garnet, this is far from simple or even consistent).

For utility and clarity, the latest version of each resource will always be posted here in the first post - I expect there will be updates. Scope may also be expanded (e.g. so far this is just abut Garnet amps - nothing to do with the speaker cabs, about which information is actually more hard to come by, at the very least I would like to add links to any and all product literature/adverts that we can find - send them to me; I can host them; PM for email). Please feel free to reply below with comments, additions and corrections (I do not claim that this is complete or perfectly accurate, but it was all I could gather from the known and reliable references I have available to me - mostly garnetamps.com and the Garnet book, but also a few other blogs and websites of superfans I have found over the years, as well as previous discussions here on guitarscanada with afficandos and collectors).

Power tubes + either transformer (not always possible to find a part number for the OT on a given model's schem, to compare to another known - I suppose it might be worth adding that info to the all models table, but not sure it would tell us anything new, so much as confirm what is listed and make it easier for the models we don't have info about). Going off the lists above only, the model name (the number part) double checking against power tube type because there are some exceptions/deviations (look at either the timeline or all models legend for the basic categories) should be reliable.

Note that Stencils included quite a few power configs that did not exist in the proper Garnet line (i.e. all the weirdo tubes you never heard of and no power transformer - those are all rather low wattage and single ended though), but they also had (usually but not always) stripped down versions of almost every Garnet power class with the exception of the 400 and 600 (as far as I know - not perfectly sure).

But the difference between, for example, a 12 and a 15 (both Banshee), or a 190 and a 200 (both Pro) or even a 190 and a 250 (early Pro vs Session Man - same power tubes) would be down to the iron. Tubes being the same you can only get more wattage with more voltage - PT to supply it and the OT must handle it. That's what I mean.

Using the iron is probably pretty reliable, but the point I was making is that unless you've had a bunch of them to compare too, how you gonna know what transformer is for what class? The part number is not always on each schem, so you know what you have but not necessarily able to compare to anything else easily. That's why I am thinking it might be pertinent to add that info to the table (but that is a lot of work and I'm not sure I could complete it; still , some is better than nothing).

Anyway, I made a few changes but not updated the pics linked above yet; mostly format and readability changes. Once I get some more content changes I will update.
