So I have discovered one of my strats I snagged at a killer deal online is in fact a Tex-Mex strat, I have found some basic info on them online, but the fender site is a wee bit vague etc...

what I am gathering from my searches is its a hybrid USA/Mexican made strat. Better quality than the normal MIM but not as good as a USA standard.

Is there any other insight out there...

i bought a jimmy vaughan tex-mex about a year ago. my other guitar player used an american strat. we were amazed at the sound with the hotter pickups. my other guitar player has since swapped guitars twice trying to improve his sound. very nice to play as well

sorry, dont have a pic. it is sunburst finish. it has become my main player ahead of a 65 gibson howard roberts and a old shector tele. i also like it better than my 78 lp standard. personal choice though. a lot of people still say bah its mexican. let them try yours.they may change their mind
