Hey,
im looking to buy a relatively cheap guitar that can be used for rock, but also has a nice jazzy sound to it. I've been told that many Ibanez Artcore guitars get that kind of sound but i didn't really like the feel. Any suggestions?
Thanks.

Jazz and rock?

Tele.

MIM Tele's can be had for peanuts.

Ask Ed Bickert if they work for Jazz. As for rock.....no need to go on.

+1 for the MIM Tele. I have a Muddy Waters Tele that covers all the bases with the Fender special pickups it comes with.

Look around for Ibanez Artstars either the AS80 or the AS120 that were discontinued in 2003. They're made in Korea and plays much better than the Artcores.

Ed Bickert had a DeArmond in the neck I think.

Tele or a Yamaha,or Guild. There are usually some good deals on each.

Mine is still for sale in Ottawa:tongue:

$500 with HSC in excellent condition, wont find a better deal than that (Songbird sells em for $600 when they get one, and a lot of places in the states regularly ask $500+ USD).
