Strap bolts installed in Oakville area?

I need strap bolts installed on a couple of acoustic guitars.

Where should I go in the Oakville area?

Preferably they would do it while I wait.

Acoustic Room in Hamilton did mine (and some fret work)
Why not do it yourself, simple wood screws to install. There are dozens of Y-T videos on this subject .

Cause of I'm scared of drilling into my guitars and last time I had this done, Cosmo charged me like $5. Doesn't seem worth the risk to save $5.

I'd wager it's more than $5 now, but still should be fairly inexpensive.

However, this is about as simple as changing a light bulb. Definitely well within your skills. All you need to do is select a good spot and make sure to use the right diameter bit and mark depth of penetration.

Also, lube the screws (soap or wax).

Five minute job.
You have the right not to be a handyman.
I'm an extremely good handyman but a lousy guitar player.

Right

$5 for the job + gas + few hours outside for 5 minutes job
Gear Music seems like an easy choice but I have no experience with their repair department. The Guitar Shop in Port Credit would be an excellent choice. I've used them because their repair guy came highly recommended. It won't be while you wait though. You'll have to leave it for a week.
It’s a 2 minute job. It doesn’t have to go to a repair department. I would hope that most decent guitar stores would do it while you wait.

Is it possible that many stores have a part-time repairman or a repairman who comes in once a week to do the work on site or bring it to the store?

There's not many guitar stores I am aware of that have a repair department on site in Oakville, Burlington. L&M Burlington doesn't. Gear does but he is only there til 2pm weekdays.
This is something I did not do my self as I also don't feel comfortable drilling in to my acoustics. The one I had done retailed at 11k. I had folkway music do mine. I spent more in gas to get there than I paid them to do it. Can't remember exactly how much.

We believe (often wrongly) that just because some strange guy claims to be a pro, he'll do a better job than we can.

Practice drilling a piece of scrap wood and installing this strap button, and you'll just have to reproduce the same thing on your guitar.
Why should it be any different?
Any piece of wood is just a piece of wood.

Sorry for something you only get one shot at, I would rather someone who has done it a million times do it for me.

It's under $20.

$20 or fuck up my guitar forever. Hmm tough call.

Good if you know this guy and his skill.

I guess you won't do this kind of work ; Neck job DIY

By the way ,why not drill one millons times on a scrap piece of wood yourself. 😂

Well, everybody has their own comfort level and skill set, and yes, $20 is not going to kill most of us, but if you f$%k up your guitar forever drilling one hole......

Based on the posts you make here, you're much brighter than that. In other words, I'm quite confident you could easily do this in five minutes and move on.

I just don't know how you could f%$k it up that badly.

You'd be surprised. lol

Also hey, it's an excuse to visit a guitar store and poke around.

I trust Folkway completely with my guitars. If you can't trust somebody with a strap button where the heck do you take your neck resets?

Wouldn't screw it up forever. Just be a more expensive repair when you take it to where you should have taken it in the first place.

Yes...Especially if you drill into the wrong place on the neck of a Taylor acoustic (and some other brands).
It happened to someone locally.
