Anyone into Status Quo, who were massive in the UK. Did they make it here?

They were a rocking boogie/ bluesy/ rock band in the 70s with walls of AC30s and 2 singers/ guitarists playing Teles (pne of them, Rick Parfitt, died recently - RIP Rick). They used to play extended jams and they were the first group I ever saw live in 77. They left a massive impression on me.

In the 80s they became more mainstream and poppy and I went off them a bit but still enjoyed the older stuff.

Here is a video at the massive festival we used to have in the UK, Knebworth:

Here is a Lick Library rig rundown much later when they were using Marshalls:

And at Glastonbury:

An end of an era with Rick gone :-(

I choked up a little when I was looking through Youtube for videos.

Rick Parfitt was a machine-gun at that kind of rhythm playing.

My dad was huge into them, saw them in Toronto maybe 15 years ago, small club, killed. Ran into them literally outside getting into bus. Had a younger bass player.

Me and my friends were into them in high school.
On my grade 12 english exam (late 70's), there was a 'bonus' question for 5 marks.
'Define Status Quo'.
My answer, 'A British rock band'.
I got zero at first. I took the 'piledriver' album to school the next day to show the teacher.
He gave me the marks.

^^ That's awesome.

That record also reminds me that I remember thinking it was pronounced Piled-River.
