Because Lola posted a thread about harmonicas, i got out my old Jerry Murad's HARMONICATS album and played both sides.

Because I played the Harmonicats album, I was inspired to get out my chromatic harmonica.

Because there were so many notes stuck on the harmonica, I took the harmonica apart.

Because I took the thing apart and stubbornly effed around with it for an hour I REALIZED:

IT'S NOT THE REEDS THAT ARE STICKING, IT'S THE LITTLE PLASTIC STRIPS CALLED "BREATH SAVERS"!!

Now it is a simple matter of removing the top and bottom covers (two screws), and making sure each one is free before playing!

Thanks Lola. The harmonica is back!!

I never had this problem in the old days. Different material used back then? Not plastic?

I paid $120 for this Hohner Chromonica 260 less than a decade ago. Now they are $300.

I am getting Dad's old 64 Chromonica 280 out, now. Its worth $400 now.

Thanks again Lola. Made my day!

I have a harmonic as well, I should take it to band practice this weekend. Thanks for the idea!

Maybe I should get mine out. I was trying to learn how to play it but haven't picked it up in months.

Maybe Lola will get us all playing one before the year is out!
