I’m not a big fan of eggnog, but I do love French toast.

I add a tiny bit of vanilla extract to mine, and of course actual maple syrup, NEVER table syrup.

I make my own extract, it stupid simple. Just toss a bunch of vanilla beans in to a jar with some bourbon, Rum or Vodka and let it sit for a few months :)

Ya know, I think this is one of those times we're just going to have to trust you. An amazing side dish to French toast is bacon fried in maple syrup. Cook it slowly, drain the fat, add maple syrup and let it cook for 5 min or so turning often.

Dont knock it until you try it man, worst case you waste 75 cents worth of bread and eggs. I have wasted a lot more in shipping costs trading pedals by mail.

It sounds tasty. I've experimented with rum and vanilla flavouring in batter for French toast, but, as with a lot of things, getting the balance of flavours just right is easier when you make something in batches of 100s of gallons, rather than a couple of eggs and a few slices of bread. Sadly, the big D keeps the eggnog away, so I'll just have to imagine how good it tastes.

Hey--eat what you want & all that...

But if I liked French toast I suspect I would love it with eggnog.

At this time of year I make everything I can with eggnog.
Kraft dinner is a whole new kind of amazing. **

** disclaimer. I have not actually done this. Please don't do this. I'm sorry.
