What smaller more local fests do you have in your area?

Calgary we've got Sled Island, BIG Winter Classic and the likes. In Alberta we've got Frog Fest, Range Fest, Vantopia, and I know the Taste of Edmonton always brings in a good mix of local and not so local artists. They've also got UP+DT.

Golden has Golden Sound Fest.

Just to name a random few.

What are some not to miss type of smaller festivals in your area?

Calabogie Rib and Blues Fest is a fun two day event an hour outside of Ottawa. Had another small one in Burnstown that folded when the owner of the local cafe that organized it had to shut down he business. Hoping the new owners can resurrect it.

Toronto blows for festivals (NXNE and CMW are all 'industry ' type events and The Beach Blues fest is a horrible tourist trap).

I hear good things about Wayhome, but that's large and I've never been.

In the Soil down St Kits is pretty great.

Apparently the electronic music fests around here are good if you're into that.

There's a little celtic festival here that is well regarded.

Goderich Celtic Roots Festival

I've volunteered on and off over the years. As far as I know no one has performed there as much as I have (though all of it is as a sideman), something like 23 consecutive years. Last year was my first without a stage stop.
