Made this last month, but forgot to share it here. We compared the Nanolog Audio Devices N1A, N2, and N3 with traditional clipping diodes (1N914 in a dual symmetrical arrangement). There's a short demo song, a description of the test (with a pedal making montage), and a VERY raw comparison between each. Just the pedal into an amp on a clean setting with lots of headroom.


It's pretty subtle, but to our ears (and according to the waveforms) there is some improved dynamic range and improved upper harmonics from the Nanolog devices. I can't wait to hear what these will do in the hands of a dedicated pedal builder or amp maker!

The N1A is crispy, love it even though I usually appreciate more headroom.
Still haven't built anything with my sample, so this is great thanks for posting.
