Hi,
There is 2 guitar that i am interrested in, but what should be the best choice ?
Tribute 50's SG 2013 (not prototype) ___________ 750$ cnd
and
Variax JTV69 Korea __________________________ 850$ cnd

Both seems to be in good shape !

I already have a Les Paul Tribute 50's (p-90's pickup) that i love ... but what i fear about the SG is that she has also p90's pickups ... i fear that the sound will be the same as the LP tribute ... am i right ?

What is your choice ?

The SG wont sound the same as your les paul.

Those are two very different guitars. What do you need the guitar to do?

My son has a Variax JTV69 that he bought when they first came out. I think he paid $1500 for it. I was pretty impressed with all the things you can do with it but I don't think he plays it much anymore since he's lost interest. He also has a Yamaha Pacifica 1412 which I understand is quite a rare guitar. He also doesn't play it much. If I could kick his ass I would but he's 48.

Another consideration is the scale length. The JTV is 25.5 and the SG is 24.75".

If it's a Gibson SG 50s Tribute, I'd buy that.
If theSG and LP sound too much alike, you could get different P90s for one of them.

Just my 2 cents....

I think the jtv requires a battery. if it's a proprietary battery, I would pass as they could be difficult to find later on.
