There are a few different configurations of seven string guitars.
-George Van Eps popularised the seven string with the extra bass string. His disciples, Bucky Pizarreli and his son John have carried on the tradition.
-Lenny Breau loved his nylon strung seven string with the extra treble string added.
-Spider John Koerner popularised the seven string with an extra octave string added to the G string, makig the G a double string octave course like a 12-string.

Have any of you tried any of these seven strings?

I picked up a 7-string ibanez in 2017 for a scottish friend. I found it easy to play and a low B is fun. It made more sense for him to fly to canada to get it rather than ship it over. After over a year since i picked it up, he brought it home from toronto last week. Sadly i didnt get to meet him.
