hey gang - I’ve got a 1970 Super that I’d like someone to give the once over...it’s got a bit of noise happening and I haven’t had it in front of a tech since I bought it. I’m willing to ship the chassis if needs be.

Who are the best vintage fender techs in Canada?

If it's just a little noisy I think it may be overkill to ship it. There are plenty of competent techs here who I'm sure could fix it up for you. If it's just a little noise and it hasn't been serviced in a while it's likely just some carbon comp plate resistors going noisy. That is if its a white noise/hiss or bacon sizzling type of sound. If its hum then it's likely a bad filter cap. Either way shouldn't be a difficult fix and while they're in there they can clean the pots/jacks and check the other electrolytics and components that might not have aged gracefully.

As mentioned earlier, there are plenty of competent techs in the GTA that could work on this. Steve Moratto did a nice job fixing up my Clark Beaufort a few months back, so I can recommend him. I've heard only good things about Tim Dudley at Superfuzz....he's fixed a few amps for a buddy of mine.
