It's kind of the inverse of the so-hot-you-can-fry-an-egg-on-the-sidewalk thing.

There was a news item the other day abut a couple of guys surfing on Lake Ontario or somewhere else in Eastern Canada. They were wearing wetsuits, but there were icicles hanging off the front of the balaclavas they were wearing.

I gather the formation of the ice crystals occurs with rapid heat dissipation. The warmer the water, the more heat to dissipate. Or at least that's what I'm thinking.

So glad I have a garage, and can actually park the car in it. Most of my neighbours have their garages full of stuff, and will wake up to a frozen car covered in snow. Best of luck to those in the region for tomorrow morning.
