Dang. Anderson was always the most likeable flim-flam man around. It was the banter, to be sure, but I think the hat played an important role in his persona too. IN an era when men didn't wear hats much, it made him seem from another time, and that made him seem innocent.

He was a pretty good magician, too. I think I used to catch him on Johnny Carson's show every now and then. Or, was it SNL? Anyway, that was before he starred in Night Court.

Always a joy watching him on TV.

I was surprised to see this. I enjoyed him on Cheers and Night Court. I just checked another website where it said he died of natural causes and he was 65 years old. Too young. R.I.P. Mr. Anderson.
