I love Dream Theater, they blow my mind everytime I watch them. I just try to imagine the 1000s of hours of practice that got them that tight.

If you havn't heard their stuff, you really owe it to yourself to check them out. Their musicianship is so exceptional it's mind boggling.

Amazing stuff!

...i'm watching their budokahn dvd now. the playing is truly astounding.

the songwriting, not so much. i feel sorry for the singer, who has a great voice. he must feel like an actor who is stuck with a screenplay that simply doesn't connect.

that said, i'm only part way through - i'm told that there are a couple of pretty good songs toward the end.

I got to see them live a few years back when they toured with Satch. Amazing show. The year before I seen Petrucci with G3 and he really blew my mind. Before that I had not really listened to any DT or Petrucci. Since then, I have become a huge fan. Will have to check out these DVD's

It sure was Dave. We actually had front row seats for that G3 show at Massey, we were just to the right a bit and thats where Petrucci played his set. It was a great show. His solo CD Suspended Animation has all of the tracks he played on that tour. he released the CD about a year after the tour.
