For a local deal yes . But you and I will need to pay 15% tax on top of his 150 shipping. Now it’s a $2565 traditional with what looks like satin finish.

It's at least $400 less than most of the Reverb listings as a starting point and he's open to offers. I like the colour anyway, and when you consider you could sell the second set of pickups for $200 or so it becomes more attractive. The SD "Whole Lotta Humbucker" set that are installed sell new for $349.

And it's a 2012 model looking at the headstock photos.

I have found a lot of people, when building their listing, just accept the standard item that Reverb shows them. These are the same people that put "attention to details" on their resumes.

Just curious as to why there would be a 15% tax on this, the guitar is located in Canada no??

13% HST for most of us. Reverb charges tax now.

Reverb kills deals unfortunately. They take 8% plus whatever you boost it....then the buyer pays full provincial and GST or HST depending on where you live. This creates a very large gap in what people pay vs what the seller gets.

Yeah, its ridiculous. I had a guy buy a guitar off me last week, and after he payed through Reverb, he asked to cancel it and go private, due to the taxes. I said no, and we cancelled the sale. I then sold it on Marketplace, and later got a Message from Reverb that they were taking 5% thinking that I sold it to the other guy. I sent them a nice reply, with proof.

That's crazy that they took the funds ...where is their proof that your reverb listing led to the private sale?

Back to the OP, it’s interesting that reverb considers the high end of the estimated price range for an ‘08-‘12 traditional to be $3250

That is enraging. Surely they can’t just take it if you had said no, some consent must be required? I’m surprised/disappointed you needed proof.

I also love every time I have an item listen on reverb and sell somewhere else, then when removing the ad am given the option to cut them in:ROFLMAO:

I think a lot of the high end prices in the price guide are people mis-categorizing their guitars - like someone sold a Les Paul Custom as a Traditional or something.
