...back in the day (a phrase commonly employed by us old chaps), that's how we used to get around. its how we got out to see a band, visit a girl or just have some fun, in rural areas, at least. although, i recall hitch-hiking back and forth between montreal and toronto in the 70s.

Another reason I would have wanted to grow up in the 70s, instead of this crappy generation...

...both my daughters, and my girlfriend's son and daughter say that about the 60s and 70s, a lot.

There are plenty of references to how much better it was 'back in the day'. And I'll agree it seems things were better. But what happened to make things worse? What went wrong? Just asking. What's your opinions?

..."better" is a relative term. different would be more appropriate.

the 50s, 60s and 70s were magical times, for many of us.

for many others, no doubt the 80s, 90s and 00s were/are just as magical.

that said, i have no idea how i ever managed to survive without computers and digital technology!!!!!
