Part of the reason I knew they were different birds is because I went to see Paul speak at TGS a few years ago.

The other reason is because I scoured that website in my younger years drooling over guitars

I toured with a Custom 24 purple quilt top for 3 years. It was nice. It had birds. Trem. I liked it. Found the pups hot.

Compared to today, i knew very little about guitar pickups , effects, signal path, the world of hand made pickups.

Very cool. I really liked the 20th anniversary birds when they came out. In University I remember first seeing a Dragon PRS with the crazy inlay on the neck.. amazing guitars.. the $20k price tag was out of my student budget though

That was an interesting read.

It's a good thing his Mom wasn't interested in elephants.

I never heard this story in detail. Thanks. I've been a fan for years... Have had 4 PRS guitars. Best yet is a used CE24 satin I picked up used a few months back. Amazing guitar, especially the 85/15 pickups. Most articulate I have, even more than the Fat 50s in my anniversary strat. Love this guitar.
