OF all places where I could ask this question, I decide that this is my best, most economical solution.

I am looking to purchased tickets (does "ticket" apply? both ways?) to go to Germany in May. I am shopping for tickets on air canada's website so please let's not talk about google, I know how they work, they're actually clear. I do not know how Air Canada works - their info is not so clear...
Can someone please tell me (I never do this in my life) on Air Canada's website, because I'm obviously too dumb to figure it out myself, what the displayed price actually means in terms of Go-Return?

In other words, if you see 1350$, is that just the price for the go ticket, and there's another price (where would I see this?) for the return ticket? Or is that 1350$ for there and back?

I am totally green behind the ears that were born yesterday under a cave, so please be not too harsh. And thank you.

also, telecasters rule.

Thanks guys, that's what I did. The price you see is just the first flight, the return flight is another price, which as you've suggested, will be visible once you go through with the process. It' my perception and (lack of) understanding that was the issue.

Basically a bit over 1500$, taxes included. prices may vary about 20% depending on the type of options you chose.

Since you're in Gatineau, what some people do is drive down to Ogdensburg or other place in northern New York state, and fly from there to a major American hub, where cheaper fares might be obtainable. "But what about your car?". It's a common enough practice that motels in these places will let you leave your car for free (in a protected lot) as long as you stay one night. I've never done it myself, but people tell me that even with the cost of driving and motel, it can sometimes be cheaper than flying out of Ottawa.

It’s not just cheaper, it’s faster. You can screw around wasting your day with connecting flights and layovers via Air Canada, or get on a US carrier and go direct. I can get to South Carolina faster than I can get to Newfoundland.

I've not done it for overseas but I've done it for US destinations and is quite a bit cheaper. Many of my friends have done it too. We just slip over to Buffalo.
