ya over $900 + taxes I believe at Long and Mcquade in Brampton.

I tried one out and I would highly recommend checking out a Highway 1 as well. I was not overly impressed by the Baja for the price. I know the reviews are glowing, but most of them are from the US where these don't cost as much.

From what I've read, the Baja has a fairly beefy neck, that I'd like. I also like the soft V, medium jumbo frets, and ash body. The Fender website states in their specs that the pickups are Custom Shop 69, an over-wound neck and Broadcaster bridge. The weight is supposed to be decent as well. I got a new 50's Classic coming, I'm actually thinking about getting the local store to bring in a Baja and if I like it I'd sell the 50's.

The neck is indeed beefy. Which is a feature I like. And I had high hopes because I wanted that style neck with med. jumbo frets.

But the 2 I looked had had paint finish bubbles, crooked hardware and both weighed a TON for a Tele. If it was a cheaper guitar I wouldn't have been less picky with the details, but at $900 +, plus taxes I am picky.

My 2003 American Series Ash with a 9.5 radius neck and med. jumbo frets was only $750 used. And it came with a molded Fender hard case.

I was just looking at one at the L&M in Mississauga. I may be wrong, but I thought it was under $900. It was a nice guitar, and that neck is beefy all right, but it wouldn't make me trade in my Hywy 1 Texas Tele. You get more tonal options, which is never a bad thing, and the one I tried was reasonably light, but it didn't grab me like the Texas did. Perfectly nice guitar though.
