Hey all,

Has anyone here built a Tele body from scratch using vintage pop crates? For images search "crate-o-caster" using your favourite search engine.

I've started looking around for some suitable crates, but I'm short on builders here in Canada.

That's a cool idea.
I have an old Canada Dry bottle crate from the 60's.
It may become a Tele project.

I haven't done it myself, but I've seen some cool ones where people used old explosives crates or ammo crates for their tops. I think it looked pretty cool.

I've thought about it but haven't come across any good material. I do have a big ol' junk of black cherry that will eventually be dry enough for about 4 teles.

I read somewhere that pop crates can lead to a fizzy sound. Milk crates, when dried a bit, can be very creamy, though.

I'd do some checking but I'm just in the process of changing the oil in my favorite search engine.
