I need to make a contact mic about an inch or so wide.

Anyone know where I can get a piezo wafer in Toronto to make a mic.

Or, if there is anywhere to buy a piezo contact mic already in a flat housing that I can just plug in.

Thanks

These folks are cheap, have fast shipping, and carry a number of different sizes of piezo transducers: Components - Passive / Buzzers, Speakers - dipmicro electronics

Alternatively, I will suggest Honson/Supremetronic or Creatron, on College, just west of Spadina. Apparently Creatron also has an outlet in Scarborough. Honson is located in the basement of the Home Hardware.

Note that the diameter of the piezo disc is correlated with its frequency response. Wider ones will be more sensitive to low end. Be careful soldering, though some will come with short leads pre-soldered.

Honson Supermetronic ( inside the Home Hardware W of Spadina on College). Will have piezo elements. Used one to make a shoe drum trigger.
