I've got this aluminum body Tele in a trade from a member here a few years ago. I haven't used it in a while so I decided to take it out of the case, ... and paint it. Which one do you like best, the original metal finish, or the new blue one?

I do like both too, but prefer your refin and that new guard sets it off nicely.

O Natural. With an engraved guard. Unless the blue is is really worn and the aluminum shows through

Yes to that ! Transparent blue would be awesome.
I think both look good but your blue re-fin looks sharp and it doesn't look like any wood bodied tele I've ever seen. Definitely unique and if you can find one of those engraved pickguards I think you would have a real winner.

Yeah, I did wear away some of the blue around the edges to let the black paint and aluminum body show thru, might have to do a bit more.
That's awesome. Great choices. Really pops good. That guitar is noticeable from far away.

How heavy is it?
I like the blue one...reminds me of a Trussart that I once owned

I prefer the aluminum look--but they both look good.
It's a PITA to get paint to adhere nicely to aluminum btw.
aluminium, gets my vote. maybe get a wire brush drill attachment, do some swirlies if you are bored with it?

Haven't weighed it bu it weighs about the same as a wooden guitar.

Original finish is better to me.

I'm thinking original finish, myself. How many guitars have that? Paint can be put on any guitar, but it'd be a shame to cover this one up.
