I've got this aluminum body Tele in a trade from a member here a few years ago. I haven't used it in a while so I decided to take it out of the case, ... and paint it. Which one do you like best, the original metal finish, or the new blue one?

I like the blue, But is aluminum sought after or a premium?

I know in automotive circles, aluminum used to be pretty desirable (now it's all about carbon fibre), so it's rare that someone would paint over it.

I like 'em both, for different reasons. That particular blue really pops agains that maple board - it's a stunner. On the other hand, the original looks very cool, too. But you did a good job and I like the spots of wear on that blue.

Why not use it as a canvas for one of your paintings?

I'd get the body anodized. Much harder than steel and there are tons of amazing colors

While the blue does look interesting, I think the raw aluminum (or is that aluminium?) is more unique, IMO. That's what I'd go with.
