Picked one up a few days ago. In the shop for some bridge work, fret work and setup. Solid spruce top/mahogany back and sides, Indian rosewood fretboard, bone nut/saddle out of the factory in 1981. Can't wait to get it back - reviews are slim, as these were not produced in large volumes. $710 MSRP in 1981. Produced from '78-'84. The reviews that I have found rate it up w/the big names, greater than 2K. We shall see, soon enough!

Yes, these are excellent guitars. Just about anything in the "L" series is a top notch guitar.Don't let the price fool you. Somehow Yamaha produces world class guitars at very competitive price points.
