hey! I just bought a used 'regent' acoustic, made in japan. I'm sure it's ancient, but google doesn't turn up much info. Pretty sure it's an old Gibson copy.

The action at the nut is fine, but closer to the bridge is insanely high.

I've been working with the truss rod, and that causes neck curves, but doesn't change the action.

The saddle is an adjustable metal thing, looks like a bridge off a les Paul style of guitar. I lowered it as far as possible (the strings aren't even touching it anymore), and the action is still way too high.

Any ideas or suggestions?

I should add... I'm hardly a guitar tech. More just tinkering and figuring stuff out
