Woot! I was actually looking at getting one through a trade with someone here on the forum but the deal didn't go through. Then this week while I was looking at an Ottawa based Facebook group where music gear is sold/traded, found this mandolin for $44.00! Picked it up on the way home. There was no strings on it but it came with a new set of strings and a couple of Mel Bay Mandolin books. I took out the pick guard to clean it, not sure if I'll put it back. It was also missing the screw that attaches the pg with the piece of metal attached to the body. And the bridge cover I still have to pick up from the guy coz he forgot to give it when I picked it up. Anyway I put the strings on it and it's not bad at all! Except holy crap, fingering chords and notes are a pain! I'm going to have to practice a lot to strengthen my fingers. Anyways, here it is!!

The bridge is not fixed so I had to figure out where to put it while setting up the intonation. I got it set up right now, except I'm going to have to change to a lighter set of strings. The light ones are still very hard to play.

Cool enjoy!

And remember that with mandolin you typically hold your fretting hand fingers differently than with guitar--so instead of being more straight on you come at them from a different angle--which makes it easier to fret them--and is easier on your finger & hand muscles...
